Livelihood in the pluvial flood prone slum communities in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Climate events are increasingly affecting livelihoods, particularly for the poor, because of their Dryer Door Catch limited resources to adapt.Four hundred households were interviewed from two slum settlements in Dhaka.This study revealed that because of different socio-economic status, one slum was more vulnerable than the other in both situations.Two livelihood statuses of slum settlements were significantly different, and there was a positive relationship between Cap the conditions that suggests the normal livelihood status influences the stressed livelihood status.This research might help to assess the vulnerability of the urban poor, which is the first step in formulating adaptation strategies for them.
